Internal analepsis, despite seeming like a digestive disorder, is a literary term for a flashback that is part of your main story. Examples of flashbacks like these are frequent in mysteries and . In an Agatha Christie book, for instance, it's typical to "flash back" to a scene we've already seen so we may acquire more background information as we discover more about the murder. It's an excellent literary technique for gradually revealing the story's layers.
· Outside Analepsis
This refers to flashbacks that occur outside of the main storyline. A family saga story that begins in the present and then abruptly jumps back to three generations previously, years before the narrative even started, might serve as an illustration.
